HEALED AND SET FREE OF
CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME
6 February, 2003
In September of 2001 I fell out of the bathtub on my back. Our house if built on
a concrete slab and the bath is tiled not carpeted. In other words, I fell onto
concrete. I suffered a concussion from the fall because I hit my head as well.
Miraculously, there were no broken bones, though Barb has commented that my
angels were probably crushed and needed vacations to recover.
Initially, I was treated by my chiropractor for the fall as if it was just a
fall, this after making sure there were no broken bones especially in my back
and hips, etc. When the condition didn't seem to heal quickly, he noted that I
had worked 60-80 hours a week under incredible stress for years (while on staff
at Living Word). He also noted that I had been the caregiver when my mother was
diagnosed with terminal cancer and that during the months prior to her death my
schedule at Living Word did not lighten up. For some three months I went on less
than an hour sleep each night while caring for my mother. Based on this, he felt
that I was totally run down physically and that chronic fatigue syndrome was
setting in. I was tired all the time, susceptible to colds and infections (and
slow to recover from them), and having difficulty walking, maintaining balance,
and standing for any length of time. Since this fall, I had experienced a
continual constriction in my mid-section, somewhat like having giant elastic
bandage wrapped from my back around my abdomen. There were also muscle spasms
and numbness. In October of 2001 I had the mishap at your house on the stairs.
Again my doctor found no broken bones or torn muscle tissue - nothing. But my
knees felt swollen and were stiff. This, along with the lingering effects of the
fall in September, made standing and walking difficult and caused my doctor to
restrict my driving as he wasn't sure how quick my reflexes would be in traffic.
I obeyed and haven't driven more than 6 blocks since then.
Friday night, when I finally slithered off the floor onto the stage to sit by
Barb, I realized that the constriction around my mid-section was gone. The
numbness was too. I stood with no hesitation and no real assistance. The only
wobbling was from the Holy Spirit and not the injuries. Since Friday, the
symptoms have tried to return but I've just refused to sign for the delivery of
such lies and started praising God and thanking Him for my healing. Each time
the symptoms have disappeared. I am healed and have had a couple of
opportunities to give testimony to others of it.
