PULLED OVER BY POLICE
FOR BEING "DRUNK" IN THE SPIRIT
I attended some of the healing and revival meetings at Passion and Fire Worship
Centre recently. The first night, after the meeting I was feeling a bit
lightheaded("drunk"), but thought I was driving perfectly ok. A Police
Officer pulled me over and said I was swerving on the road. I was shocked,
because I was thinking I was driving perfectly fine. He then asked me if I had
something to drink. I told him, no, I don't drink. He then asked me where I was
coming from and I told him, from Church. He was very perplexed when he heard
that. He gave me a warning and told me to drive safely. The next night after the
service, I thought well tonight I am going to concentrate real hard to drive
straight, and it took a lot of concentration to drive straight. The next morning
I realised how "drunk" I was the previous night, because then it took
no effort at all to drive straight.
I was wondering why Jesus would want to make me "drunk" and He
reminded me of the disciples in Acts after the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:13 the
people said that they were drunk. The disciples had great boldness in preaching
the Gospel after Pentecost. I experience a greater freedom and boldness and less
of the fear of man in my life after being "drunk in the Spirit" Isn't
this what the Bible says in Eph 5:16 "do not get drunk with wine...but be
filled with the Spirit."
Yes Lord, you are serving "new wine", You have kept the best
"wine" for the last days. May we drink deeply and be changed more and
more into the image of Jesus and may Your Spirit in and through us touch and
change other people's lives.
