This is just some of the testimonies from the healing meetings with Hamilton Filmalter at Calvary Assembly of God, as well as an eyewittness report. Please note: some of these testimonies are from English as a second language people or the poor and disenfranchised. I kept the spelling and grammar pretty much as is, to preserve the veracity of the testimony. 

The Testimonies:

I’ve been having problems with the lower left side of my back. I knew that my right leg was shorter than my left. I walked with a limp. God healed me and straightened my right leg. God also healed my stomach and I feel a lot better now. For many months I cannot use the restroom until God healed me through Hamilton. I am very glad and I want to thank God for sending him to Calvary Assembly. - Trevin Chan 

I was unsure that God could forgive me for my sins. I confessed my sins to the Lord and I felt better. It feels good to know that God can save a soul like mine. - Tomas Solis 

I got saved by God and He healed my pain in my stomach. I felt the Holy Spirit in me. My stomach healed so fast I cannot even tell the difference. - Mevy Chien Saechao 

I came in with lower back pain so bad I could hardly sit through the offering. When I went up for prayer Hamilton pulled a girl from my church over and had her pray that my legs would even out and that made most of the pain go away. Then she prayed over my pain that was left went and it left and I fell down. - Lori Guadarama (First Baptist Church, Richmond, CA)

The Report:

A young Asian man, Trevin, went up for prayer because his back hurt. When Hamilton had him sit in a chair and aligned his legs, it was obvious that one was shorter than the other, and showed him. “I know,” he said, “I walk with a limp, but I lean to the side as I limp to try and make it not so noticeable.” Obviously this was a situation that not only he caused him physical pain but emotional trauma as well. Hamilton prayed for him and his leg immediately straightened out and became aligned properly with the other. When he stood up to check himself for pain, he found it was completely gone! He had some stomach problems that were also healed immediately. We later learned that he would be so severly constipated that he could nopt use the bathroom for weeks at a time! He was lying on the floor when God healed this. He literally had to jump up and run to the bathroom! He was so touched by the grace of God that he brought his mother back that evening. He provided translation for her while Hamilton led her to the Lord. It was wonderful to see her beautifully beaming face, filled with gratitude for what God had done for her son and herself. She testified that she could feel the Holy Spirit come into her. As an added bonus, her stomach was also instantly healed! Later she went through her entire apartment complex, testifying of the power of God to heal. Now that’s Power Evangelism in action!



Another young woman, Lori, was so tormented by back pain that she had to stand during the offering, leaning against the wall. When Hamilton started to pray for her, he did the usual action of checking to see if her legs were out of alignment, etc. But this time he called over another girl, Courtney, from the same youth group. Hamilton had Courtney pray and command the leg to lengthen and align with the other. It did! Almost all the back pain was gone. So Hamilton had Courtney put her hand on Lori’s back and command the rest of the pain to leave. Not only did it instantly vanish, but also Lori fell down under the power of God! 

God is not only in the business of healing backs and stomachs, he also is a God of tender mercies. A man named Tomas came up for prayer and Hamilton could tell as he ministered to him that he was not saved. Hamilton began to talk to him about the way of salvation, but he quickly discerned that the man thought he was too hard, too terrible a sinner, for God to let him in to heaven. Hamilton could see that he needed not only forgiveness from God, but he also needed to forgive himself. There was a poignant moment, almost a suspension of time, as we watched the man struggle with and seem unable to pronounce forgiveness or love for himself. An almost palpable tension was in my heart: will God break through? Will this man get saved? Hamilton persisted, even trying to hug him, which the man initially refused. But finally we watched the almost visible “heart meltdown” as Tomas received the love of God and could release himself from the guilt, shame and anguish that had imprisoned him. He sets the captives free!

Sometimes church is just downright fun! Hamilton had a good time bringing up Laurie, a woman who gave moving testimony to how God had use Hamilton to deliver her from the pain and bitterness of previous relational hurts. Unbeknownst to Hamilton when he ministered to her the first time a year ago, one of the hurts had been a time in her childhood when she had been punished for laughing out loud in church. For the three days Hamilton ministered in San Pablo she repeatedly fell to the floor and laughed uncontrollably. Do you see how the works of the devil were destroyed in her life by that laughter? Well, as soon as Hamilton got her up there he had her lay hands on Bessie and they both went down in a gale of laughter. Since it looked like “ladies night,” Hamilton called up other women who also ended up roaring and rolling on the ground. One woman with a conservative, “high church” background was so worried about the proceedings that she needed gentle encouragement to even let this wild man pray for her. Hamilton found her sitting in the audience and tried to minister joy to her, but she was not having it, saying, “No, I’m just a visitor!” She had come as a guest of Laurie, but Laurie offered her no protection because she was lying on the floor as usual, laughing. Hamilton quickly perceived that she was not use to all this and had come for a reason. “Why are you here? Do you need healing?” he asked. She looked like she had changed her mind! The nice, dignified friend who had brought her was now lying on the floor, not looking too refined! Hamilton persisted gently and she admitted she did come for healing for an athletic injury incurred on a sixty-mile fund raising walk. He called her several times to come forward, which she finally did, with reluctance. Hamilton prayed and her stiff, painful knee was instantly healed. Then he prayed for the fire of God to fall on her. With a startled look on her face she succumbed to the power of God and fell down, then started laughing. It happened so quickly she could hardly reconcile herself to what had happened! Hamilton said jovially: “What are you doing down there? My, you’ve become one of ‘those’: You’re a holy roller!” Which sent her in to further paroxysms of hilarity. It is always fun when Hamilton comes to town!
