CHICO PRAYER OUTREACH
Sept. 11, 2002
On Wednesday morning of the meetings with Hamilton Filmalter we did a Prayer
Outreach in our community. A team of about 25 believers went door-to-door. Here
are some of the testimonies from the different teams.
1 - Carlos group
The first house, where someone was home, was a lady. We asked if we could pray
for her. She at first said not really, everything was going well. So we asked
her about different things. She finally agree to pray for her child. After we
prayed for her and her family, we asked if she knew if she was going to heaven?
she said she hope so. Susan said you can be sure just by saying a simple prayer,
asking Jesus into your heart. She wanted to do this. After the prayer Susan
asked were Jesus was and the lady put her hand on her heart and said "right
here". We asked if we could come by again, she said anytime.
The second house, with someone home, was a young lady who was on the phone. We
asked if we can pray for her and she said she had family in New York. We prayed
for her and her family. She said she had been saved, she went to Catholic
schools and church. She said she had asked Jesus into her heart. We asked if we
could come back, she said yes.
The Third house we went to, a Japanese exchange student answered. We asked if we
could pray for her. She said there was other exchange student staying there. She
had excepted Christ but was back sliding. We prayed for this woman and the other
exchange student. We asked her if she knew if she was going to heaven. She said
yes, and that she was going to Grace Community with her exchange family. At this
time the man of the house come to the door. We asked if there was anything he
would like prayer for. He said he had a friend who was a doctor and he had eye
surgery that hadn't gone well. So we prayed for his friend Dave Walker. We asked
if we could come back and they said yes.
2 - Gloria McClure, Gert Emerick, Pat Pettinguil
The first house we came to the wife, Bethany said they were Catholic. We asked
if there were any needs that we could pray for. She said no. I asked if we could
pray a blessing on you. Then Gert asked if she could step outside and we could
hold hands and pray. She reluctantly came out. Then Gert led her in the sinners
prayer, as we all repeated it. Even thro she was very hesitant throughout, we
feel as she said the prayer, the seed was planted. As we walk away we continued
to pray that God would establish and intimate relationship with her.
Anyother lady, who was a christian, needed encouragement. She thank the Lord
that He knew what she needed. We were also able to pray with Virginia, who was
house cleaning. we encourage her to get back into church and prayed they both
would become like Mary and sit at Jesus feet. Joan, who came to the door with a
painful neck and carrying a cane. Very sternly said she didn't want prayer and
closed the door. We prayed for her as we went away.
3 - Jeanne, Gary, Candi
We prayed for Kay's prayer needs. Then asked if she knew if she would go to
heaven if she died. Her response was yes, because she was a good person. We lead
her in a prayer if salvation. She recieved the Lord Jesus and was really blessed
and touched by our prayers. The presence of God was awesome.
Prayed Debbie's mother-in-law, who had been in serious accident. She was in
tears and blessed by our prayer and faith for healing. Debbie said she would go
to heaven but avoilded are questions on specifics. Saying she always believed
since childhood and it was a family thing.
